What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Clearly, Eddie Hearn didn’t get the memo after taking the Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.-Daniel Jacobs fight to Phoenix, Ariz., and that move might cost the Matchroom Boxing promoter his Nevada State boxing license.
The fight was originally scrapped by the Nevada Sports Athletic Commission (NSAC) after Chavez Jr. played hide-and-seek with the VADA drug testers.

The NSAC is not happy with Matchroom treating the ban like a joke and is threatening to revoke Hearn’s license unless “necessary action” is taken. Oh, and the committee went as far as to accuse Hearn of violating the 1999 Ali Act. While we don’t watch Law & Order, we know the federal laws prevent promoters, like Hearn, for having a direct or indirect financial interest with a boxer. But that would never happen in this sport, would it?
It’s starting to shape up like the Chavez Jr. vs. Jacobs fight may be more trouble than what it’s worth. If Hearn decides NSAC isn’t just playing chicken, he is rumored to have Gabe Rosado (24-12-1), whom you may remember from Creed) on deck as an alternate for Chavez Jr.
