Shots Fired | Gervonta “Tank” Davis, Devin Haney, Tevin Farmer Engage in Twitter Warfare

While Gervonta “Tank” Davis is officially fighting Yurkis Gamboa this December, the undefeated 24-year-old is already throwing some (verbal) jabs. The undisputed Twitter champ went at it with Devin Haney and Tevin Farmer over the weekend. The conflict started when Haney, riding high about being crowned youngest world champion, called out Davis on social media.

Davis dismissed the Bay Area-native’s challenge with a savage clap back:

While we’d love to see the two young bucks meet in a ring, Tank isn’t wrong about Haney’s new belt. The World Boxing Council gifted him the title after promoting Vasyl Lomachenko to “franchise champion.” Haney responded to the criticism curtly:

Davis deftly countered with the age-old accusation of copping his “style.”

Just as things were getting heavy, Tevin Farmer joined in. The IBF junior lightweight champion challenged the legitimacy of Tank’s own title victories.

At the end of the day, all three men are phenomenal talents worthy of world title talk. Known for his otherworldly punching power, Davis (22-0-0) is already one of boxing’s biggest draws. Haney (23-0-0) is one of the most promising prospects whose talents will be on display this weekend against Dominican boxer Alfredo Santiago on the Logan Paul-KSI undercard.

Unlike Haney and Davis, Philly-born southpaw Farmer, 30, (36-4-1) was never a blue-chipper and started his professional career with an unimpressive 7-4-1 record, including being KO’d by Jose Pedraza who Davis beat for his first world title. He’s only had one loss since then, and it doesn’t count against him after his opponent’s failed drug test. These days, Farmer is regarded as boxing’s premier defensive fighter.

The only way to tell who is more deserving of their belts is simple. Put down your phone fellas and square up in the ring.
